Don't Dismantle The Arc

As we all know, Carmello wants to leave Denver. He has said his prefered destinations are New York and Chicago. But the Nuggets are looking for offers from the Timberwolves, Kings, and Nets. If we take a look at those 3 teams, yeah sure, borderline 10th spot with some ok players, not much else. But then NY is a maybe 7-8 spot team right now and could be a 5-6 spot with Mello. But the Bulls right now are going to be at least the 4th-5th spot in the East and could be possibly the 3rd-4th spot with Mello. But are they willing to break up the group they have now?

The offer being looked at is Anthony for Deng, Gibson, Noah and or Johnson. That almost dismantles the Bulls frontline that would go along with Boozer. If you give up Noah, you have a unproven rookie center in Omer Asik and left without a pure shooter in Deng. Also Gibson is a big piece of the Bulls, and was probably one of the most dependable player last year. He was the 26th pick in the 2009 draft, played all 82 games and averaged 9.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. Now that is production.

So are the Bulls willing to give up Noah that will come in and give you a 10 and 10 game everynight, Deng who is a guy that will give you at least 15 every night, and Gibson that is a less productive version of Noah? I don't think so. The main reason Boozer came to Chicago was because of Noah and the frontcourt they have, along with Derrick Rose running the point. New York or New Jersey seem like the 2 better second options if the Bulls turn down this offer. Unless the Bulls can cut out Noah from there and maybe give Deng, Gibson, and Johnson for Anthony and maybe a Lawson or Afflalo. But I think Anthony should play this season out and wait until next season when he is a free agent along with Tony Parker and Chris Paul. All I know is Noah shouldn't be cut... It is not worth it.
